FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5
6 PM WOODS-PENNIMAN BUILDING, CHESTNUT STREET, BEREA COLLEGE
This event is a celebration of the partnership between our citizens and city government that created the 120-panel solar farm. The people who have purchased leases for the Berea Municipal Utilities Solar Farm and city councilors/employees will be the honored guests at this reception.
Hors d’oevures will be prepared by Berea Coffee and Tea, Chefs Adam Walker and Stephanie Clark. Speakers include Mayor Steve Connelly, Berea College President Lyle Roelofs, and Steve Boyce. 10 AM APPALACHIAN GALLERY, 205 N. MAIN STREET, BEREA COLLEGE
Solar Energy Solutions, Georgetown, KY: Solar electric and solar thermal basic for the home. Learn about all types of solar and get answers to your questions.
11 AM-2 PM BEREA WELCOME CENTER, OLD TOWN, NORTH BROADWAY
Community Celebration. Events include the following (and more)
- Solar vendors, energy auditors, purveyors of information for home energy production an conservation.
- Art Exhibit—“Solar in Berea”
- Food cooked in solar cookers by celebrity chefs
- Register your garden on the city map
- Sign up for Berea’s community skills assessment
- Music, Dancing, creative activities and much more
- Blessing of the animals, noon, and Care for Creation kitty adoptions 11 – 2
1-5 pm 7th Annual Berea Solar Tour: Berea homes and businesses open their doors for the public to view photovoltaic, solar hot water, and other solar applications. A map and guidebook (see inside this booklet) will be available at the visitor’s center showing the tour open houses. Berea Utilities Day at the BMU includes displays of utilities equipment, close-up look at the solar farm, and free food.

The drawing for the Raffle for a 25-year lease for one solar panel will be held at 4 p.m. at the BMU OPEN HOUSE at 200 Harrison Road. You need not be present to win but you MUST HAVE your winning ticket to claim the solar panel! Good Luck!!!
